Crazy dreams take crazy effort, and nobody gives more effort than Rafael Nadal.
As Ben Austen of NYT Magazine said,“On every every single shot, Nadal looks as if he’s hurling a life preserver a thousand feet to rescue his drowning mother.”
Well put.
It's only crazy until you do it, and Odell Beckham Jr. doesn't feel like he's done anything yet.
The 2018 Boston Red Sox are the winningest team in franchise history. They won a record 108 games during the regular season. But having an amazing regular season means nothing if you can't get it done when it counts. If there’s one thing we know and love about sports, it’s that favorites don’t always win and that greatness is never guaranteed.
Ben Simmon’s legit status as a rookie has been questioned by Adidas, Donovan Mitchell and the press. They should question it, because it’s rare that a rookie is this great.
So we trolled the trolls and acknowledged that they’re right, he’s not just any rookie. He’s the Rookie of the Year.
Nike wanted to Rally Los Angeles with a brand campaign that celebrates the Dodgers’ road to a World Series title.
LA is a city made up of hustlers. From movie execs grinding it out for their clients in Hollywood to the blue collar workers on the Eastside getting their hands dirty to put food on the table, Angelenos only have one speed: hustle.
We produced a lot more stuff, but this campaign tagline concept and design is all I can show you due to how the series turned out. Maybe next year.
Nike wanted to celebrate Federer's record 8th win at Wimbledon, so we created a campaign and designed a logo that wrapped it all up. We knew it worked when he wore the logo on his chest to the press conference right after his win. Oh, and they made a signature shoe with that little logo on it. Serena Williams finally returned to Indian Wells after boycotting the tournament for 13 years after a racist incident in 2001.
“I walked out onto the court, the crowd immediately started jeering and booing. In my last match, the semifinals, I was set to play my sister, but Venus had tendinitis and had to pull out. Apparently that angered many fans. Throughout my whole career, integrity has been everything to me. It is also everything and more to Venus. The false allegations that our matches were fixed hurt, cut and ripped into us deeply. The undercurrent of racism was painful, confusing and unfair. In a game I loved with all my heart, at one of my most cherished tournaments, I suddenly felt unwelcome, alone and afraid.”
“It has been difficult for me to forget spending hours crying in the Indian Wells locker room after winning in 2001, driving back to Los Angeles feeling as if I had lost the biggest game ever — not a mere tennis game but a bigger fight for equality.”
“Emotionally it seemed easier to stay away. There are some who say I should never go back. There are others who say I should’ve returned years ago. I understand both perspectives very well and wrestled with them for a long time. I’m just following my heart on this one.”
— Serena Williams
The ad ran full page in the Los Angeles Times on the day of her first match. Serena posted the ad herself through her social channels just before the event.
